Despite the team’s inexperience, Steve’s leadership and determination played a pivotal role in being featured on INC Magazine’s list of 500 fastest growing, privately held companies three times, ultimately leading to the sale of the company.
Steve’s role evolved to include sales and marketing leadership for the brand and its competitor which had acquired the company. He successfully grew both brands and navigated another acquisition by a public company which tasked him with stretching for even more growth and profit. Steve’s tenacity and expertise paid off as he launched two additional brands, leveraging the company’s IP and relationships to increase their global distribution.
Steve’s biggest accomplishment in the field was shifting brand efforts, resulting in a brand at the bottom 10% of profitability transforming to become the second most profitable brand in a portfolio of 97 consumer brands, including Marmot®, Rawlings®, Stearns, Oyster, CrockPot®, Seal-A-Meal, Diamond, Ball®, First Alert, Mister Coffee, Sunbeam, Rival, White Mountain, NUK®, and others.
